How to learn Synon

Synon is a wonderful tool but there is limited resource available in form of reading material or training centers which provides Synon training.

Most of the people working on Synon learnt it by their experience and a major portion of Synon is still a black box for them.

I would like to share my learning of it through this blog and would like to invite other Synon expert to share their learning through this platform.

What is Synon

Synon is a tool running on AS/400 (also known as I-Series, IBM I-System).
It is developed long back in 1980's but it has great architecture ,which can not be matched by even today's highly advanced application generators.

You will not believe ,everything is stored in form of normalized database tables which makes it flexible and high end performer.

It was developed to be used by business user to define his requirements and generate applications but it is not that simple and some level of program developer's skill is required to quickly develop a great application running on AS/400.

Synon is also known as Cool:2e and currently owned by Computer Associates.
